Murray has been involved in the arts for many years and has owned and managed his own gallery on Queensland's Mount Tamborine.

He has an ongoing interest in war history and vintage aviation; both in his writings and paintings. In the art field Murray has exhibited and sold in major art shows and welcomes commissions on relevant themes.

He is a regular writer to suite101.com; an international online magazine, and recently he was invited to become a contributing writer/illustrator to 'Global Aviator'; a South African based magazine with its inaugural issue in May 2009.
